If I had a bucket list, this place would definitely be on there: Palmyra, New York with the historic church sites ‘The Sacred Grove’ and ‘The Hill Cumorah’. {M} and I have been talking about someday visiting these places for years and it feels a bit surreal to actually be here.
Yesterday morning we started out going to the Hill Cumorah. It was a bit rainy, which was actually perfect since we were the only ones there walking the trail up to the monument. Walking where Joseph Smith walked about 200 years ago made the restoration of the gospel come to life for me more than ever before.
In the afternoon we went to the Sacred Grove and this time {J} went with us, which he did because he knows how much it means to me to have him there with us. It made the experience even more special. Again we were the only people walking in the Forrest, which looked magical with the leaves in fall colors. I truly felt how special this place is and to imagine that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father visited this place to speak to Joseph solidified my testimony of the restoration. I truly don’t have words to describe what I felt there.

I am very grateful that we are in the States and that we decided to start out here. It’s good I don’t have a bucket list, for this would be too special to just be checked of a list and so I won’t check this item of the bucket list I don’t have.
